Rent follows a close-knit group of young artists and friends living in New York City’s East Village during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Struggling with poverty, relationships, and their artistic dreams, they navigate love, loss, and community in the shadow of a rapidly changing world. As they face personal challenges and external pressures—ranging from financial instability to health crises—the characters learn to measure their lives not by material success, but by love, connection, and the moments that truly matter.
Bold, contemporary, and emotionally driven, Rent celebrates resilience, chosen family, and the power of living authentically in the present.
Note: Rent includes mature themes such as illness, addiction, sexuality, homelessness, strong language, and death. These elements are integral to the story and may be sensitive for some performers or audiences.
